Michigan Democrats needed some late mail-in-ballot magic to keep a Marxist from winning Tuesday's primary for U.S. Senate.

Again, they turned to Detroit.

This time, critics say, it doesn't appear they were able to conjure enough votes to get the establishment's preferred candidate over the finish line.

Marxist Muslim Abdul El-Sayed, backed by Bernie Sanders and AOC and who campaigned with BFF Hasan Piker (the guy who says America deserved 9/11) defeated Rep. Haley Stevens, who had the endorsements of Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Gretchen Whitmer.

"The establishment was scared stiff, and ready to pull out all their tricks to stop the Marxist Muslim from winning," Revolver News noted.

The Trump Administration has ordered a Maryland school district to rescind its policy in which schools can allow students to transition genders without informing their parents.

In a letter to Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS), Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon warned that failure to comply with the order could result in a federal lawsuit and the potential loss of federal funding. Dhillon gave the school district seven days to respond.

Dhillon states in the letter that the district's gender identity confidentiality policy violates the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) by denying parents access to their children's educational records.

"Comply with the law or face us in court," Dhillon wrote.

"By categorically withholding information about a student's gender identity from parents except where legally required, AACPS appears to have adopted a blanket, district-wide practice of nondisclosure untethered to FERPA's enumerated exceptions," Dhillon wrote, adding that parents were denied access to their children's complete educational records, that information was disclosed without parental consent, and that parents were denied hearings to correct those records.

A California man has been charged with federal firearm-related offenses after he was apprehended on Sunday at the Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles, two days before President Donald Trump was scheduled to arrive, reportedly for an RNC fundraiser.

Jeanine John Taele, 38, of Downey was charged with several felonies including second-degree robbery, receiving a large-capacity magazine and possession of a short-barreled rifle or shotgun, a felony with a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

Taele was ordered to stay away from the golf course and not possess weapons. His bail was set at $250,000.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office told Newsweek Wednesday that Taele remained in state custody at a downtown Los Angeles jail and has not yet been transferred to federal authorities.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee voted on Thursday to recommend former Covid czar Anthony Fauci be held in contempt of Congress.

The vote follows Fauci invoking the Fifth Amendment 111 times during a committee hearing last week on the pandemic response and the origins of the Covid virus.

The vote by the committee, which is chaired by Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul, initiates a process that would result in the Justice Department considering whether to charge him with a crime.
