Trump Responds to Supreme Court by Invoking New Tariff Authority—And Cranking It to The Max

President Trump moved hours after the Supreme Court struck down his emergency tariffs to invoke a separate trade authority, imposing an import surcharge on most goods that takes effect February 24. He initially set the rate at ten percent, then raised it the next day to fifteen percent—the maximum allowed under the statute—saying in a social media post that the increase followed a “thorough, detailed, and complete review” of the court’s ruling.

A Tucson couple said they found a pair of blood-stained gloves and a rock with dried blood in the Arizona desert a mile from the home of Nancy Guthrie, days after she was reported missing three weeks ago.

The couple, who asked to remain anonymous, stumbled upon the suspicious black gloves on the ground 10 feet apart in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson on Feb. 11, according a report by KVOA on Friday.

Two Detroit police officers were suspended without pay this week for contacts made with Border Patrol agents on two separate occasions.

WXYZ reported, “On Dec. 16, 2025, one officer contacted border patrol during a traffic stop on the city’s west side. Then, on February 9, 2026, a sergeant called federal agents for translation services instead of using the department’s 24-hour translation line.”

Matt Meyer (D) said that as far as people in this state are concerned, “it’s hard for ICE to operate anywhere in our state without it creating some crisis, and, in fact, making Delawareans less safe, simply by wearing that uniform now, because of things that have happened in Minnesota and other areas across the country, it’s creating a lack of safety.”
