Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodriguez Passes Limited Amnesty Law

“Acting president” of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez on Thursday evening signed an “amnesty law” criticized by local human rights organizations over its limited reach for all of the socialist regime’s remaining political prisoners.

Rodríguez signed the bill into law moments after it was approved by the National Assembly — a parliamentary body entirely controlled by the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and led by Delcy’s brother Jorge Rodríguez.

A fifth of Europeans surveyed said that they would in some circumstances prefer to live under a dictatorship amid growing dissatisfaction with the current democratic order or indeed lack thereof in their countries.

According to a poll from AboutPeople of voters in France, Greece, Romania, Sweden, and the U.K. found that 22 per cent, or one in five people, would prefer a dictatorship over democracy, POLITICO reported.

Academy Award-winning movie titan James Cameron penned a letter Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) warning that Netflix acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery could lead to the death of cinema.

In the letter, obtained by CNBC, Cameron warned Lee, who chairs the Senate subcommittee on antitrust, that Netflix successfully acquiring Warner Bros. could lead to the death of movie theaters, exhibition cinema, and the loss of thousands of jobs.
