Deranque was attacked by “at least six” people who punched and kicked him in the head, which caused fatal injuries to his skull and brain. He later died at the hospital. Thousands were seen marching in the streets of Lyon, France, declaring that there needs to be justice for Deranque.

Many were carrying signs that read "Justice pour Quentin," meaning justice for Quentin in French, along with the dates 2003 to 2026. The activist had died at only 23 years old earlier this week.
Tommy Robinson, who has taken a trip to the US in recent days, posted, "Quentin Deranque, 23yrs old. Beaten to death as he defended young French women from masked up Antifa scum. It's time for Antifa to be proscribed as they are in the US. It's also time for European nationalists to unite for our continent. In the name of Quentin."

According to those investigating the case, Deranque's death is linked to La Jeune Garde, which is a far-left group that has been banned in France. Several people have been arrested in connection with his death, including Jacques-Elie Favrot, who had worked as a parliamentary assistant at the National Assembly for an LFI deputy.
