For all of you still staying in Airbnbs, well, first of all, congratulations on sticking it out this long. You're a trooper.
Second of all, you should be aware that you no longer have to scrub the bathroom tiles with a toothbrush before checkout:
Dexerto reports:
For years, Airbnb guests have complained about being charged cleaning fees while still being expected to tidy up properties themselves. Now, the vacation rental company is introducing stricter guidelines to limit what hosts can demand.
According to Airbnb's updated policy, which takes effect on November 20, 2026, hosts will no longer be allowed to require guests to complete time-consuming chores typically handled by professional cleaners.
Here's the official new Airbnb method of checking out in the morning:

Okay, okay, it's not quite like that. You still gotta keep the place reasonably clean. Don't go tearing it up like you're Keith Moon.
Still, it's a big improvement over the insane number of rules that have proliferated at Airbnbs over the past decade or so. Under the new policy, owners will "no longer be allowed to require guests to wash and put away dishes, strip beds, start a load of laundry, or take garbage off-site."
Meanwhile, guests "shouldn't be asked to avoid using a listed amenity like air conditioning" (though the owner "can ask them to turn it off when they leave").
Finally I can go on vacation and not have to do laundry while sweating in an 87-degree duplex.
Meanwhile, you guys are NOT shy about voicing your feelings in the comments:
🤣🤣🤣
Regardless, I'm still looking forward to my next stay in a Best Western!
