Jake Paul is back! And he's got an opponent too.
The pop culture icon will square off against French combat sports star Cedric Doumbe in a Christmas Eve comeback bout in Dubai.
Most Valuable Promotions, the company owned by Paul, made the announcement Monday morning. The eight-round cruiserweight fight is set for Dec. 24 and will be held at Coca-Cola Arena.
At this time, no broadcasting partner for the match has been announced. (RELATED: Brandon Aiyuk Hires Super-Agent Drew Rosenhaus, Eyes NFL Comeback)
Boasting a 12-2 record with seven knockouts, Paul comes back to the ring for the first time since getting knocked out in the sixth round against two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. That fight happened in Miami this past December.
Joshua put Paul on the mat four times prior to brutally breaking his jaw and giving the 29-year-old his second loss as a professional, while also handing him his first knockout defeat.
The injures Paul suffered required him to have numerous surgeries and a long recovery, and it also brought up questions regarding his future in boxing. Speaking in May on Uncrowned's "The Ariel Helwani Show," Paul admitted that he didn't know if he was going to fight again.
But ultimately, he's back a year later, and ready to brawl—oh, what Christmas fun this is going to be.
Guess who’s back…
