Paris Jackson Files Legal Documents Seeking $600 Million Trust Fund Payout 17 Years After Michael Jackson’s Death

Paris Jackson Files Legal Documents Seeking $600 Million Trust Fund Payout 17 Years After Michael Jackson’s Death

Paris Jackson filed court documents on Oct. 29 demanding that the late Michael Jackson's estate release $600 million to a family trust.

Paris said her late father's trust was meant to benefit her and her two brothers, and argued that they've waited more than 17 years for the trust to be funded, according to People.

The estate claimed outstanding legal matters must be fully resolved before the trusts are funded.

Paris asked a Los Angeles judge to order partial distribution of the estate's assets to The Michael Jackson Family Trust. She asserted that the estate has generated billions of dollars since her father died in 2009, but the money has been withheld, according to the outlet.

The trust was intended to provide for Michael's three children, Prince, Paris and Bigi, and the terms indicated each sibling was supposed to receive their share when they turned 21, which they allege has not happened.

Paris' filing claimed that further funding was intended for distribution at age 30, and additional disbursements were allotted for ages 35 and 40, according to People.

Prince will soon turn 30, Paris will be 29 in April, and Bigi will turn 25 in February.

Paris said she and her siblings have been at the mercy of the estate's remaining executor, John Branca, who determines how much money they receive and when.

Paris' attorneys cited a number of lucrative transactions that they say would make the funding possible, including the sale of the estate's interest in EMI Music Publishing for $287.5 million in 2018, the sale of Neverland Ranch for $22 million in 2020 and a 2023 deal with Sony, according to People.

The filing claims those transactions generated more than $1 billion cash for the estate, before taxes and expenses.

Paris has expressed ongoing concern for how her father's finances have been managed.

Michael Jackson's estate maintains that it cannot fully fund the trusts until several outstanding legal disputes are settled, including a battle with the IRS over a reported $700 million in taxes and penalties.

"The Estate was able to secure a ruling to significantly reduce that amount, but the matter has not been settled and could still change," they told People. (RELATED: 17 Disney, Universal Employees Arrested In Sex Trafficking Sting Reportedly Involving Diaper Fetishes, Disney Costumes)

They further claim more than $200 million has already been distributed to the children of the late King of Pop and doubled down by referencing his will, noting that "None of his children receive a distribution until they are in their 30s."

A judge is scheduled to hear Paris' request on Dec. 4.
