The boos rained down hard.
New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill stepped onto the ice at the Prudential Center Wednesday night expecting applause. Instead, she got ten straight seconds of deafening rejection from thousands of hockey fans who are absolutely done with progressive politicians grandstanding at sporting events.
The ceremony was supposed to celebrate Jack Hughes returning from winning Olympic gold with Team USA. Instead, it became a referendum on the Democrat Party’s war on American values.

The timing is telling. Sherrill issued an executive order just one day before the game, implementing anti-ICE policies that prevent state law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities. The U.S. Department of Justice immediately sued her, arguing the order blocks federal law and puts New Jersey residents at risk.
So there she was, less than 24 hours after defying federal immigration law, expecting applause from a crowd of patriotic Americans.

Hockey fans remembered. They remembered which party tried to cancel gold medalists for their political views. They remembered which side spent years demonizing working-class Americans.

The disconnect between the ruling class and real Americans has never been more obvious. Sherrill thought she could bask in reflected glory while simultaneously undermining federal immigration law. She thought wrong.
Hockey fans—working-class, patriotic, tired of being lectured by elites—let her know exactly what they think of her agenda. Ten seconds of pure, unfiltered contempt that drowned out the PA announcer.
This is not just about one governor getting embarrassed at a hockey game. It is a sign of something bigger. Democrats have spent years attacking American traditions, American values, and American heroes. They thought they could get away with it forever. They were wrong.
The boos in Newark are echoing across the country. Working Americans are done being lectured, done being dismissed, and done being treated like enemies in their own country. Sherrill just learned that lesson the hard way.
