AOC Brings Nothing to the Table
Cartoon published 08/18/2026
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to be considered as a viable 2028 presidential candidate.
Let that sink in.This is a woman who has spent years in Congress producing more Instagram posts than actual legislation. Her legislative resume is thinner than the paper her Green New Deal was printed on. She's the political equivalent of a restaurant with a fantastic social media page, but found to have an empty kitchen. Before she got into politics, she was a bartender who couldn't remember the ingredients to a rum and coke. OK, we're joking about the drink—we're sure she's far more qualified to be a bartender or barista than a president.
AOC does know how to mix a strong ideology with very little substance, and then she serves it with maximum confidence. She believes form is more important than substance.
The same people who once treated her like she was the future of the party are now staring at an empty bench and wondering if she's the best they've got. When your deepest bench looks like a folding chair, those running the party will be forced to look elsewhere.
AOC recently tried a soft rebrand by labeling "Woke 1.0" as "crazy." She's now fully committed to "Woke 2.0," which includes open borders, a defund-the-police strategy, free everything, and the usual "burn it down and rebuild it in our image" platform. It's new packaging with the same toxic product.
We've seen this movie before. Candidates smile and moderate their language for the cameras. They say whatever they need to say to get elected and then the real agenda walks in the door. Virginia just gave us a fresh example with Governor Spanberger. She talked like a moderate on the trail, but governed on the left once in office. It's a classic political bait-and-switch: Sell the constructive plan, and then deliver the demolition special.

AOC doesn't bring experience. She doesn't bring results. She brings a volume set on loud. She brings a socialist ideology along with a seemingly strong opinion about issues and policies she's never tried to figure out.

If this is the strongest name the Democrats can put forward in 2028, the table isn't just empty—it's been cleared and the chairs are stacked. It will be time to turn out the lights, because the Democrat Party will be over.
