The Laconia Police Department identified the man as Stephen Redic, 70, of Laconia, and arrested him at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

He was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct and is set for arraignment on December 10.

His LinkedIn page identifies Redic as a “retired writer and humorist” and a graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.

According to his Facebook page, Redic is originally from Caribou, Maine.

That page includes recordings of him reading his “poetry,” the text of his poems, and political diatribes where he rails against billionaires and advocates to “abolish the idea of the ‘self made’ man.”

Redic’s portfolio also includes multiple books, including “Out of the Rain: Conversations with the Spaces Between Leaves,” and “Tying My Shoes.”

He also has a page on Intch.org, where he advertises voice acting services, and says that he previously spent years broadcasting on local television and radio.
