Pete Hegseth’s Wife Gets In On Trump 2.0’s Lucrative Swamp Bonanza

Pete Hegseth’s Wife Gets In On Trump 2.0’s Lucrative Swamp Bonanza

Jennifer Hegseth, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's wife, reportedly has a swampy side hustle.

According to a Wednesday Politico report, Jennifer was hired by the Trump-connected consulting firm, Watchtower Strategy, and paid for consulting work. The weapons maker Lockheed Martin, Politico noted, was one of Watchtower's clients in 2025. (RELATED: 'The Swamp Is The Worst It's Ever Been': DeSantis Tees Off On Trump Admin Corruption)

"Secretary Hegseth and his wife are in full compliance with all ethics laws and regulations, and their sole focus is serving our warfighters, President Trump, and the American people," Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell told the outlet.

Jennifer is also the daughter of a Lockheed Martin executive.

"It should be no surprise that a public affairs firm would want to work with one of the biggest former star producers at Fox News, the nation's preeminent conservative news outlet," a Watchtower spokesperson said in a statement to Politico. "Jen has assisted us in navigating conservative TV media and we appreciate her help. She has not interfaced with any clients nor does she provide any advice to Watchtower on defense matters."

The second Trump administration has faced numerous corruption allegations from watchdog groups and Congressional Democrats.

Among other things, critics have pointed to the Trump family's lucrative crypto firm, its connection to a United Arab Emirates national security advisor, high-profile executive pardons and clemency decisions granted to wealthy donors or figures tied to crypto platforms, such as Changpeng Zhao, and the president's ballroom project, which was funded by multi-million-dollar donations from corporations and billionaires. Several polls leading into the 2026 midterm elections found that political corruption was a top concern among voters.

A Gallup survey found that a record-high 89 percent of Americans believe that government corruption is widespread—a 20-year high—including 91 percent of Democrats, 90 percent of independents and 83 percent of Republicans. A CNBC poll published in late October found that 36 percent of registered voters ranked government corruption as the single most important issue facing the country, ahead of food and grocery costs at 34 percent and gas prices at 23 percent.
