BREAKING: Multiple Dead After Private Learjet Nosedives into Palm Beach Mobile Home Park Just Miles from Mar-a-Lago, Leaves Massive Crater in the Road

An aircraft believed to be a $2 million Learjet 60 plunged from the sky in a high-speed dive on Sunday afternoon and slammed into a mobile home park in Greenacres, Palm Beach County, Florida, about nine miles from Mar-a-Lago.

The crash tore down power lines, left a large crater in the road, and erupted into a massive fireball that demolished at least one home.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue treated the scene as a mass casualty incident, with authorities reporting multiple fatalities.

The exact number of people aboard the jet or killed or injured on the ground remained unconfirmed as of Sunday evening.

The crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. near Trail between Cresthaven Boulevard and 10th Avenue North, in a mobile home community just outside Palm Springs and not far from the Palm Beach area.

Witnesses described hearing a sharp whistle followed by a thunderous impact that some compared to a missile strike.

Shocking videos circulating on X captured the jet's rapid nosedive and the fiery aftermath.

WATCH:

Flight-tracking data identified the aircraft as a Bombardier Learjet 60 with registration N722BD (serial 60-271), which had departed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas earlier that day.

Radar and ADS-B information showed the plane entered an extreme descent; early reports estimated a drop from over 8,000 feet at rates exceeding 30,000 feet per minute before impact.

Public tracking records for the flight were later stripped or made inaccessible.

The Learjet 60 is a twin-engine business jet typically capable of carrying a small crew plus several passengers on charter or private flights.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue confirmed an "Aircraft Incident" and closed Military Trail in both directions, warning of an extended response.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office stated that an aircraft-related incident was under investigation in the same area and advised motorists to avoid it.

Investigators are still determining the cause.

No official statements have identified the pilot, passengers, or operator beyond the registration details at the time of publication.

This is breaking news, and will continue to monitor for updates.
