Flávio Bolsonaro, The Great Escape
Cartoon published 10/28/2026
Lula just pulled off the oldest trick in the socialist playbook. He lost the first round, then his friends on the Supreme Court kept the polls open an extra two hours and he
"won" the runoff. Flávio Bolsonaro called the election fishy, refused to concede, and now he's gone. He didn't stick around to hand over his passport like a good little subject. He left the country.
That is exactly what Lula wanted. The same playbook he used on Jair Bolsonaro. Lock the father up, then go after the son. Seize the passport, open investigations, make it impossible to stay free. Socialists do not need evidence. They need power. The ends justify the means. If the rules get in the way, change the rules. If the courts are inconvenient, pack them. If the vote is close, keep the polls open until the numbers work.
Sound familiar? Our own socialist Democrats have been saying the quiet part out loud for years. They want Trump and his family in prison. They talk about "accountability" while they weaponize every institution they control. Same morality, same tactics. No rules when they are winning, total rules when they are losing.
Plenty of Brazilians voted for more of this. They want the free stuff, the slogans, the revenge. They have watched Venezuela and Cuba turn into open-air prisons and still think this time it will be different. It never is. Socialism does not produce prosperity. It produces control, poverty, and people fleeing with whatever they can carry.

Flávio got out. His father did not. Credit where it is due: Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the Trump administration stepped in, helped him reach Miami, and got the family visas. Rubio has been an exceptional Secretary of State. He understands that when socialists start locking up the opposition, free people need somewhere to go.
The lesson is simple. You can vote the socialists in. Getting them out is a different matter. If we elect them here, we will learn the same lesson the hard way.
