Yikes.

I guess fatherlessness isn't the only problem facing the black community?

Here's the NYP:

Christopher Wilson Jr., a standout player at Yorktown High School who had committed to play at West Virginia University, was gunned down earlier this month in his car while he and his girlfriend were coming back from a restaurant.
Police have now arrested Darius E. Thompson III, 17, and his father, Darius E. Thompson II, 40, for allegedly working together to murder the "gentle giant" athlete they mistook for a lookalike man the dad had been beefing with, according to charging documents obtained by Fox 59.
The teen Thompson is accused of pulling the trigger while getting "step-by-step instructions" from his father, the docs allege.

They mistakenly killed a four-star recruit, defensive end?

Police say video from dad's phone captured him giving the step-by-step instructions on how to conduct a proper drive-by.

Nothing like a little father-son bonding time!

The dad reportedly admitted that it was a mistake. He thought Wilson was the guy he had beef with, but was mistaken. And here I thought "all black people look alike" was racist!

One witness claimed dad said he "let lil bros rock out," which, in local ebonics, means "I had my teenage son do the shooting."

They tried to trade or ditch the gun, but investigators recovered it. It matched the murder weapon, of course.

Thompson II was arrested last week and charged with inducing or causing murder.
Darius E. Thompson III was busted in Detroit on Thursday and charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and obstruction of justice. He is awaiting extradition back to Indiana.

Thompson II was also arrested on October 14 for a connection to a separate murder, according to USA Today Sports.

Christopher Wilson Jr. could have been a standout edge rusher at West Virginia. He could have hit the transfer portal and found himself at a place like Miami or Michigan. He could have even had his name called in the NFL Draft.
