Two people were caught on surveillance footage pulling up to the First Haitian Baptist Church in Brooklyn's Canarsie neighborhood around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, removing a large bag from the trunk of a car containing a body, and leaving it on the curb before driving away.
The video shows a person removing the bag from the open trunk of a light-colored sedan, placing it along the curb, and adjusting it before getting back in the car and leaving.
The bag sat unattended for roughly eight hours.
Around 9:20 a.m., a man known in the area for collecting scrap metal loaded it onto a hand truck, wheeled it about a block toward East 93rd Street, opened it outside a vacant former movie theater, and discovered the remains mixed in with scrap metal and wires.
