We have a rough ride ahead for the next two years
Cartoon published 11/05/2026
Fickle voters just punished Republicans for not delivering everything they wanted in two years. That is the midterm pattern.
It is also how countries end up with socialism.
Most of these voters have never lived under it. They have never watched the lights go out, the shelves empty, or the police disappear. They see the slogans and the free stuff and ignore the results. Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried. Venezuela. Cuba. The Soviet Union. Now France is showing the same symptoms in real time. Students, unions, and rioters are burning streets over wages and services while the government deploys tens of thousands of police. That is what "democratic socialism" looks like once the money runs out and the promises cannot be kept.

The same people who just handed Democrats the House and Senate want to import that model here. Open borders. Amnesty. Stack the Supreme Court. Make DC and Puerto Rico states. Defund law enforcement. Empty the prisons. Take the guns. Turn the United States into a managed, mediocre globalist power where the elites keep the perks and everyone else gets the bill. They do not want to reform America. They want to replace it.
Voters who just punished Republicans for not being perfect are about to find out what perfect Democratic control actually delivers. The phone and the pen are still in the Oval Office for two more years. After that, the ride gets much rougher. The coaster may stall halfway up the hill while the operator yells "this is fine." Or the restraints come loose and a few riders get tossed over the side. Either way, the people who voted for the free ride are the ones who end up walking back.
