You hate Mackinac Island?

Nobody hates Mackinac Island. It's one of the best places on earth. There are no motor vehicles allowed on this 3.8-square-mile beauty, and it's got some of the best fudge you'll ever taste. It's like going back in time once you step onto the land there.

And Abdul El-Sayed hates it there?

At this time of year, I'd have mentioned the Packers, but to each his own.

Now, I'll give El-Sayed, who is running for the US Senate, the benefit of the doubt and mention that the Detroit Regional Chamber's annual Mackinac Policy Conference is held on the island, and maybe that's where the cynicism comes from here. I'm not a fan of the attendees myself.

But one does not simply say, "I hate Mackinac so much ... Every time I've ever come here I've hated it. Why am I here?"

Mackinac Island has continually been named the best summer destination in the country by USA Today, and this guy hates it.
