A Lincoln, Nebraska, wannabe influencer had his girlfriend film him while instructing his followers on how to properly handle a newly purchased 9mm pistol.
Then while racking the gun, and ignoring multiple rules of firearm safety (treat every gun like it's loaded, know where your gun is pointing, and keep your finger off the trigger), his pew pew went pew right through his leg.
KLRD reports,
Emergency crews responded immediately following 911 calls reporting a gunshot victim outside the retailer. Lincoln Police Lt. Justin Armstrong stated that responding officers found the young man suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot. Lincoln Police Public Information Manager Erika Thomas confirmed that first responders quickly applied a tourniquet to curb life-threatening blood loss and performed CPR on scene before paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital.
Apparently the bullet went through the guy's femoral artery, and despite emergency surgery, the influencer remained in critical but stable condition.
Let's pray he makes it.
Oddly enough, even without uploading the video and the anonymity of the influencer's identity, the accident has garnered more attention than if he hadn't shot himself. Hopefully, it will draw some attention to gun safety too.
