The woman also alleged Wallace recorded video of the incident and distributed it across Snapchat. The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) discovered the alleged videos of the incident and said Wallace had the phone in his possession when the videos were made. The female victim said she felt "confused and disgusted" following the incident and underwent a sexual assault examination, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
During an interview with police, Wallace denied raping the woman but said he'd accessed her Snapchat account to see whom she had been speaking to, according to arrest documents cited by ESPN.
He was arrested for distributing intimate images and faces five misdemeanor counts. He faces no sexual assault charges and has been released on $5,000 bail. (RELATED: '#Notthemcnuggets': NFL Suspends Two Players On Same Team For Separate Spitting Spats)
A spokesperson for the University of Utah confirmed Wallace had been indefinitely suspended from the Utes football program.
"We were made aware of the situation with Jamal Wallace on Oct. 11 and he was immediately placed on an indefinite suspension from the program," the statement reads, according to ESPN. "We take these matters seriously. As this is a pending legal matter we have no further comment at this time."
