A child genius who has mastered Calculus II and linear algebra cannot continue his college classes, as teachers have refused to let him graduate high school early. 

Michael Sweeney, 14, has been homeschooled in Bethlehem, New York for his entire education and currently attends community college full time. Despite his achievements, Bethlehem Central School District has refused to give him permission to graduate early, and rejected his request up to three times this year. 

Sweeney has mastered Composition 1 and 2 of his college courses, along with his other courses in history, engineering, physics and health, According to the Times Union,

On a Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT), Sweeney scored a 13.5 in every category, which measures above the required 12 points to qualify as completing 12th grade. The CAT test has been widely used by homeschool families to meet state requirements for standardized testing. 

'He's moving on to 12th grade. He's testing out of every high school category at this point,' Nicole Sweeney, his mother, told Times Union.

Nathan Owens, 34, who strangled Carla Georgescu, will serve a minimum term of 35 years before he can be considered for parole.

He was sentenced this morning by Mr Justice Jacobs at Preston Crown Court, who told him: 'You have not demonstrated any remorse for what you did. 

'You took victim blaming to its limit by suggesting she had taken her own life. Her mother had to come and give evidence. 

'This demonstrates how despicable you are.' 

He said the attack on Ms Georgescu was preplanned and sadistic, with Owens  prepared to kill her to ensure he was not identified as the man who had sexually violated her. 

Owens displayed no emotion as he strolled from the dock with his hands behind his back.

During his trial, jurors heard how depraved Owens drove through the night to carry out his vile crime in February.

An Oklahoma man tried to steal an enormous $5.4 million mansion using fraudulent deed paperwork, investigators say.

Antonio Moore, 29, was arrested after he allegedly tried to steal a 14,000-square-foot home in Gaillardia, an affluent, gated golf course community in Oklahoma City.

Moore walked into the Oklahoma County Clerk's Office on September 11 with a fake deed and claimed he had inherited the property from a dead relative, the county sheriff's office said.

But courthouse staff thought the deed appeared suspicious, refused to file it, and reported the incident to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, according to police.

That same day, the legal homeowner went to the clerk's office and filed a written statement alleging months of suspicious activity, the sheriff's office said.

He alleged that his homeowner's association contacted him in April notifying him that a man, since identified as Moore, had attempted to enter the gated community under the guise of having inherited the property, police said.

The FBI has offered to help police in the Philippines with investigating Thomas Markle Sr's child pornography allegations, according to a new report. 

Filipino authorities are investigating Meghan Markle's father after his son, Thomas Markle Jr, claimed that he found 'hundreds' of alleged child porn images at their dad's home. 

On Friday, the FBI said it will support local authorities with the probe, TMZ reported. 

'The FBI is aware of the allegations and will provide support, as appropriate, to the Philippine authorities. We will also investigate any related allegations of federal violations of U.S. law,' the agency told the outlet.

US Border Patrol agents arrested a Romanian illegal immigrant covered in creepy clown tattoos in California. 

The man and two other Romanian migrants, who are all connected to a Balkan organized-crime group, were arrested in Oceanside earlier this month. 

The heavily-inked man bears a large torso and arm tattoo that features a creepy clown head that is reminiscent of the Joker. The clown is holding two masks in his hands. 

His tattoo also includes two heads of women on each pectoral, what appears to be a detective in the middle of his chest, and additional faces and figures down his arms, including an hourglass and what appears to be the words 'thug life.' 

The alleged illegal migrant's tattoo also expanded to his entire back, which had a large skull, a man walking, two castles, and what appeared to be Big Ben. 

He also has a tattoo across his throat, which appears to say 'son of god' and two dates etched on the sides of his neck.  

The three men were stopped and arrested on Interstate 5 on October 9 by the San Clemente Border Patrol, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said.

A grandmother found dead in a remote cattle dip had begged strangers for help in the months before she vanished, claiming she was being forced from her home and that her beloved pets had been stolen.

Yvonne Whear, 73, disappeared from her home at Dungay, near Murwillumbah in northern NSW, in February.

Her decomposing remains were found eight months later in a disused cattle dip trough on an isolated farm about 30km away.

Detectives are treating her death as murder and believe someone in the community knows how she ended up there.

Now the Daily Mail can reveal Ms Whear had been locked in a bitter fight to stay at the rural property she called home, with a tribunal hearing set for the week after she vanished.

In a string of social media posts, the grandmother repeatedly pleaded for help.
