New York City's radical left just sent another open-borders, anti-police, anti-prison extremist to Washington.
Darializa Avila Chevalier, the 32-year-old Democratic Socialist handpicked by far-left Mayor Zohran Mamdani, crushed her Republican opponent Tuesday night in New York's 13th Congressional District, which covers Harlem and parts of the Bronx, the Daily Mail reported.
She took roughly 87.5% of the vote to Jomo Williams' 11.4%, according to unofficial New York City Board of Elections tallies.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Chevalier first shocked the political establishment in June when she ousted longtime incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat in the Democratic primary.
Back then, we detailed how she had deleted thousands of radical posts from an old account (@darializabonet) that called for abolishing the police "full stop," ending all prisons, opening the borders completely, and seizing private property from landlords.
One deleted repost from September 2021 declared: "A world without borders—just like a world without prisons or police—is possible, necessary, and the only moral way forward." Another blunt reply during the 2020 riots stated: "No. It means ending policing full stop. Period. No more police at all ever."
Those deleted posts also included praise for seizing the means of production, calling NYPD officers "pigs," and material questioning Israel's right to exist. Chevalier has called all deportation "wrong" and argued it is unconstitutional to deport illegal migrants who commit crimes on U.S. soil.
She repeatedly labeled Joe Biden a "rapist and war criminal" during the 2024 cycle and once joked about wiping dirty hands on the American flag. She has described the United States as a "disgrace."
Her racial rhetoric has drawn particular scrutiny. In a 2019 post, Chevalier wrote that Black men and Arab men were "fetishizing ugly colonizer women," according to reporting by the New York Post. She also bragged about slamming a door in the face of an "old white lady" at a Popeyes after the woman asked about her BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) shirt targeting Israel.
Chevalier has ties to Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), a group that has described itself in terms of fighting for the "total eradication of Western civilization." She has refused to condemn Hamas or the October 7, 2023 attacks, according to local Democratic clubs that declined to endorse her.
She was arrested at an anti-Israel protest and has celebrated her victories while wearing a keffiyeh. In one interview, she said she was "very excited" to bring "black socialism" to Congress.
The Daily Mail, which first highlighted her win under the headline "She makes AOC look sensible!," noted that Chevalier has tried to walk back some of her most extreme statements while still supporting the core abolitionist agenda.
When pressed recently on whether convicted murderers should be locked up, she offered vague responses about building a society where violence does not occur in the first place rather than a clear answer.

The Gateway Pundit published footage of the confrontation and challenged her subsequent account of the incident during a CNN appearance.
