Air France has permanently closed the sauna at its lounge in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport after passengers reportedly had sex inside the facility. The sauna was located in the airline's Terminal 2E, Hall L lounge and had previously been available as part of a private shower suite. The area included a changing room, large shower and wood-paneled sauna that could be reserved for one party at a time, according to Air and Let's Fly.
A traveler visiting the lounge recently found that the sauna was no longer available. The signs directing passengers to the facility had been removed and the door was locked with a "Staff Only" sign. The traveler asked a shower attendant about the change and was told simply, "Finished. Finished." A lounge manager later confirmed that the closure was permanent. According to the manager, passengers had been "doing things in there that they should not have" and Air France ultimately decided to shut down the sauna.
The manager reportedly did not provide further details when asked to clarify what had been taking place inside the private facility. Air France's current description of the Hall L lounge lists showers and Clarins treatments among its amenities but does not mention a sauna. The closure means passengers can no longer use what was one of the lounge's more unusual amenities.
