United Methodist pastor Amiri Hooker of South Carolina is struggling with God's imagery for redemption!

Can I be honest? The struggle in this text is it says they'll be 'washed white.' I don't want nobody making me white ... I have a real problem with white supremacist Christians who claim to love Jesus but they don't really love the Lord.
And I have issues with anybody who can support a president and an administration that is taking SNAP benefits this week from our people ... Every now and then I get a little collective in our conversation and say 'the white people did it.' ... It ain't all white people, there's at least six good white people I know. Seven. I left out one.
So I'm struggling with the text because the text says they were washed and they were made white!
And I don't wanna be made white!
