Internet Unleashes With Jokes After Democrats Shellack Republicans In Midterms

Whether it be Republican "copium" for bombing an election or Democratic bravado in light of their across-the-board victory, the public went to social media to poke fun at Tuesday night's election results.

Other Republicans prepared for the inevitable: the wokefication of America.

"I did it for me. I liked it. I was good at it. And I was really … I was alive," the character played by Bryan Cranston said.

Others shared posts insinuating an inevitable Islamic takeover of America, as Michigan elects the country's first Muslim senator in the Democratic Socialist Abdul El-Sayed, whose Tuesday competitor has accused him of not condemning Islamic terrorism and of having apparent ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

A perhaps unironic post shared by President Donald Trump superfan and self-proclaimed "feisty jewess," Laura Loomer, said, "I hope everyone is learning Arabic."

Some posts targeted Republican candidates whose campaigns for governor didn't go as planned.

The audio paired with the photo depicts a man with a thick Indian accent yelling at an elderly woman whom he is unsuccessfully trying to scam.

Even disabilities didn't leave unsuccessful candidates off the hook. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has been paralyzed from the waist down since an accident just after graduating law school in 1984, was the focus of a few wheelchair-related memes after failing to maintain his seat.

"Greg abbott wheelchair at midnight," one post shared, as the seat under a man explodes, launching him across the room, with the video cutting just before he hits the ground.

Before the kid, a stated substitute for Abbott, can respond, McMahon says, "we call this 'The Ride of the Highway to Hell,'" before proceeding to push the boy down the stairs as the wrestling promoter walks away laughing. As election results are certified and winners prepare to take office, the internet continues doing what it does best: leaving nothing sacred and taking nothing seriously.
