MDEA agents have been looking into 7 Rebecca Lane in Augusta for the past month as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

The investigation included surveillance of the property and alleged undercover drug purchases.

On Tuesday, MDEA agents and the Augusta Police Department executed a search warrant on the property.

During the warrant execution, suspects allegedly attempted to conceal drugs by flushing them down the home’s toilet.

Agents were able to open the home’s septic tank and allegedly recover several bags of cocaine.

A further search of the home allegedly revealed 140 grams of cocaine, a firearm and $5,150 in cash.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized was $14,000.

During the warrant execution, law enforcement arrested Javonne Davis, 33, of Augusta, Daniel Couto, 35, of Augusta, Pete Bathgate, 50, of Augusta, and Bethany Olive, 39, of Augusta.

All four suspects were charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and were transported to the Kennebec County Correctional Facility, where they were held on $250,000 bail.

Additional arrests are expected as part of the ongoing investigation.
