President Donald Trump confirmed reports that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, “one of the most evil people in History,” had been killed during an Israeli strike on his compound in Tehran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump described this moment as being the “single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country.” Trump’s post comes after multiple reports surfaced that Khamenei, 86, who had been in “control of the Islamic Republic of Iran” since 1989, was killed.
Israel conducted what it described as the “largest military flyover in the history of the Israeli Air Force” on Saturday, dispatching roughly 200 fighter jets to strike approximately 500 Iranian missile and air defense targets in a near-simultaneous assault that commanders said eliminated direct threats and significantly expanded Israeli air superiority over Iranian skies.
On Saturday’s broadcast of MS NOW’s “The Weekend,” Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) said that he thinks we could have gotten “a stronger, better, longer deal with Iran” than the original Iran nuclear deal, “one that wouldn’t have a sunset and that would not have allowed them to do any significant nuclear enrichment.”
