Following a closed-door deposition before the House Oversight Committee, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke to reporters on Thursday, strongly reiterating that she had no knowledge of the crimes committed by disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Clinton’s six-hour deposition was part of an ongoing congressional investigation into what public figures may have known about Epstein’s criminal activities and network of associates.

While speaking outside the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center in New York, the former first lady told reporters she had no direct relationship with Epstein. She also denied ever traveling on his private plane, visiting his private island, or conducting business at his residences or offices.

Clinton also addressed questions about her past association with Epstein’s longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell, describing the relationship as casual and limited to social acquaintance.

“I never met Epstein, never had connection or communication,” Clinton said. “I knew Maxwell casually as an acquaintance.”

Following her remarks, Clinton answered a few questions. When asked about her daughter’s 2010 wedding, where Maxwell attended despite facing a civil lawsuit at the time, Clinton said Maxwell attended as a plus-one of another guest.

Clinton declined to comment on photographs released in the Epstein files showing her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in social settings reportedly linked to Epstein-related materials.

She also expressed frustration that the deposition was conducted behind closed doors, stating she would have preferred a public proceeding.

“I’m not going to do it again,” Clinton said. “I wish they had done it in public. It was very repetitive. They asked the same questions over and over. Not very productive.”

The deposition and her public remarks come amid continued political and legal scrutiny surrounding Epstein’s social connections. Investigators continue reviewing how extensively elite political, business, and media figures may have interacted with the convicted sex offender prior to his death.

Her husband is scheduled to be deposed on Friday.
