Barry Manilow canceled his August 4th concert in Lexington with very little notice, leaving fans concerned.
The show had originally been scheduled for March but was postponed to allow Manilow time to recover from lung cancer treatment. The famous singer shared a very brief message on Instagram on the day of the show, writing simply, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, tonight's show in Lexington has been rescheduled."
Rupp Arena also shared news of the sudden cancellation on social media and notified fans that they will honor previously purchased tickets at the new date "once it's announced."
Manilow's team didn't issue a press release or follow up with additional information.
Fans quickly flooded social media with heartfelt messages of love, prayers, and well wishes following the unexpected cancellation.
Take good care, Barry. You came back really fast. Take your time. Just be well.
