The Democrat-run state of Michigan agreed on Thursday to end its prohibition on licensed therapists providing counseling to children struggling with issues related to sexual orientation and gender dysphoria.

Democrats always lie the same way, so pattern recognition becomes a kind of vaccine, except that it actually creates immunity. Once you know how they do it, they can never fool you again. Unless you’re also a Democrat, in which case you were born to be fooled, and you can just go back to sucking your thumb in a basement.

Laura Loomer recently had a change of heart. Whereas she previously cast herself as a skeptic of America’s support for the ongoing war in Ukraine, The Wall Street Journal noted, she’s now undergone a miraculous conversion experience.

According to a glowing report on NBC’s Today program last week, thousands of well-heeled American visitors are flocking to spend vacations in the English countryside this summer, seeking to commune with the parent country of their ancestors, in what NBC said transatlantic visitors fondly imagine to be the “land of Downton Abbey and Jane Austen.”

Old habits die hard. At least that is the case for our Supreme Court’s Justice Neil Gorsuch, who persists in repeating the erroneous narrative that America was founded as religiously neutral. In a July 24th interview with PBS’ Margaret Hoover, Gorsuch gave his interpretation of the American founding, denying America was founded as a Christian nation:

A new Gallup poll finds that more than a third of Democrats and nearly half of independents are worried about “people who are ineligible to vote casting ballots in U.S. elections.” Yet Senate Democrats (and a few RINOS) continue to block legislation to address those very concerns.

Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Thom Tillis, R-N.C., have a lot in common. Both are soon to be unemployed, and both have a serial hatred for the people who elected them to public office.

A federal appellate court shot down on Wednesday attempts by a pair of rogue judges to sidestep a recent Supreme Court immigration ruling.

In its newly released orders, a three-judge panel on the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals overturned Massachusetts-based Judges Patti Saris and Brian Murphy’s administrative pauses against the Trump administration. Those directives sought to stop the government from ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for foreign nationals from South Sudan and Ethiopia, respectively.

“On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my rights under the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution.” 

With the rise of the Mamdani-style communists has come a widespread narrative that the sudden rise of more openly radical politicians means the Democrats of the last few years or decades are somehow moderate. Depending on who’s telling the story, it’s a harrowing tale about Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries trying to stave off the DSA Marxists; or the “far left” floundering because it doesn’t have its own Fox News; or the party needing a storybook journey home to the moderation of Joe Biden and Barack Obama.

Although the word “metanarrative” was popularized by a postmodern French philosopher who did not believe that such a thing existed, Christians have adopted the word, using it in a positive sense to describe the overall shape of God’s providential plan. The metanarrative of creation, fall, redemption (many today add reconciliation and glorification) defines the movement from Genesis to Revelation, even as it contains all other stories. Sacred and secular stories alike are hallowed by their connection to the biblical metanarrative, a connection that infuses them with transcendent meaning and ultimate purpose.
