A steady stream of establishment Democrats continues to speak out against an uprising of far-left extremists running in, and often winning, competitive primary elections against more moderate members of the party.

Most recently, longtime Democrat Party operative Donna Brazile set her sights on the "socialist wave," which she cast as a fledgling movement unlikely to capture the broader party.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Donna, we've seen these insurgents from the Democratic socialists of America making a lot of headway in House primaries. El-Sayed in Michigan is not formally a socialist, but he's from the progressive wing. How much is that going to hurt Democrats in the fall?

BRAZILE: Well, first of all, George, when you look at the DSA, which is not the Democratic Party, so I had to go online to figure it out. They ran 29 candidates. They've lost 11. They've won seven. And there's still an opportunity for them if they play their cards right, maybe to pick up three or four more seats.

President Trump has had enough of oil executives touting their quarterly earnings on financial news programs.

On Monday, President Trump took to Truth Social and let the CEO of Chevron have a piece of his mind.

Trump wrote, that oil companies such as Chevron have made a fortune during the Iran War and later demanded that Chevron lower their gas prices.

It didn't stop there though.

Trump later called out Exxon Mobil as well while speaking to the press inside of the Oval Office.

Yahoo News provided further details on Trump's call out on the big oil companies:

President Donald Trump turned up the heat on Exxon Mobil and Chevron over high gasoline prices on Monday, blasting his longtime industry allies for "making too much money" while Americans struggle with higher prices at the pump.

Oil majors have reported bumper quarterly earnings, buoyed by higher crude prices caused by the supply disruptions in the Middle East and the soaring profit margins for refineries. A man climbed to the top of the Brooklyn Bridge, stripped off his clothes, and jumped more than 200 feet toward the East River.

Somehow, he lived.

The astonishing scene unfolded Sunday afternoon on the Manhattan side of the bridge, where police said the 44-year-old man made his way onto the north tower and displayed multiple flags.

NYPD Emergency Service Unit officers tried to persuade him to come down. Instead, he jumped.

The on-scene video is difficult to believe. The man can be seen falling toward the river while holding what appears to be a bag or piece of clothing above his head:

 

That fall should have been fatal.

Police Harbor Unit officers pulled the man from the East River and rushed him to Bellevue Hospital. He was listed in stable condition.

The New York Post identified the jumper as Galymzhan Abaildayev, 44. The paper reported that he climbed the north tower on the Manhattan side, raised several flags — including the flag of Kazakhstan — and removed his clothes before leaping into the water.

Those who blamed these wildfires on climate change now have to swallow their words.

As WLT Report previously reported, wildfires in Washington have forced thousands of residents to evacuate as three separate wildfires ravaged the Evergreen State.

The fires initially resulted in Democrat Governor Bob Ferguson to declare a state of emergency for the entire state.

Now authorities have arrested the man who is behind at least one of the wildfires.

Fox News provided further details on the man who was arrested for starting the massive blaze:

A Washington state man was arrested Monday on a first-degree arson charge in connection with the Old Trails Fire, one of several wildfires that have destroyed hundreds of structures and forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate the Spokane area, authorities said.

Aaron F. Farinacci, 37, was taken into custody after Spokane County Sheriff's Office detectives and Washington Department of Natural Resources investigators developed probable cause to arrest him, according to the sheriff's office.

The Department of Education announced recently that the nation's colleges and universities will face a new requirement this year to outline how they comply with and advance several priorities of the Trump administration. 

Education Secretary Linda McMahon provided some details about the initiative in the form of an open letter that went out to administrators of those institutions. 

According to The Hill:

McMahon added, "Before the end of 2026, I call on every postsecondary institution to describe to the American public your commitments to rigorous teaching, pathbreaking research, and national service—commitments that make our universities a bedrock institution of the American republic."

The Education secretary asked for university leaders to address seven topics, ranging from the transparency of their admissions processes to the promotion of the "free exchange of ideas" on campus.

"I know that there is no single template for academic excellence, and I hope we will witness a variety of institutional types, each with distinct missions and priorities, issue landmark declarations of purpose that will revitalize higher education in the years ahead," McMahon wrote.

FBI Issues Nationwide Warning Of Potential Attacks On US Infrastructure

While President Donald Trump remains focused on following through with tenuous peace talks with Iranian leaders, some others in that nation are believed to be plotting direct attacks on the American homeland.

After early reports signaled a potential link between Iran and issues that impacted water systems across Minnesota, the FBI has addressed the possibility of similar incidents in other states.

According to Breitbart:

The FBI has issued an urgent warning after hackers targeted municipal water systems in at least seven states over the past week, prompting concerns about the vulnerability of critical water infrastructure across the nation.

NBC News reports that the FBI and the EPA released a joint public service announcement warning water and wastewater utilities nationwide that malicious cyber actors are attempting to disrupt critical water infrastructure. Water utilities in multiple states have reported cybersecurity incidents, the agencies said, and some attacks have degraded water operations. The warning follows a breach in Minnesota, where hackers targeted more than 30 municipal water facilities in an attack.

Deputies found the man, questioned him—and let him go.

On Monday, former Vice President Mike Pence made an appearance on Fox News.

The former Vice President while making a special appearance on the network discussed his conversations with Dr. Fauci regarding the origins of COVID-19.

Pence shared, that on numerous occasions he told Fauci that there was a possibility that COVID-19 leaked from a lab in Wuhan.

However, Pence revealed Fauci would not entertain the possibility but instead rejected his claims.

Former NBA star Chris Bosh revealed during an interview with Sam Yip of HoopsHype that he nearly died in January due to a pulmonary embolism.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's administration announced that its city-run grocery stores will require identification to prevent some shoppers from taking advantage of the program.

"How are you going to keep people from taking advantage of that deal?" one reporter asked.

"Is there going to be a limit on the number of items that someone can take that are discounted at that level from that essential basket?" the reporter questioned.

"So our RFP [Request for Proposal] makes it very clear that this is a program for New Yorkers to be able to put food on the table, not a program for people to be able to make a quick buck through reselling," Mamdani responded.

Jeanny Pak, the interim president and CEO of the NYC Economic Development Corporation, said Mamdani's administration would issue a form of identification to New Yorkers to make purchases at the city-run grocery stores.

"We are looking to make sure that we target New Yorkers whether it be a sort of library card-esque thing and also we manage who's buying and that it is focused on everyday New Yorkers," Pak said.
