White House Deputy Chief of Staff Susie Wiles is now facing calls to resign or be fired by Trump after Tuesday night's devastating midterm losses for Republicans.
This comes as she faces blame for Trump's agenda, staffing, and election strategy.
Wiles was reportedly the leading figure behind Trump's endorsements of candidates, which Trump himself recently admitted resulted in his "trying to get people in that were people that, frankly, let's say that I didn't get along with." Trump noted during an election night interview that his supporters "didn't like the candidates, and some of the candidates that I endorsed fought me, and they didn't like that they fought me."
Former Trump White House press office staffer Caroline Sunshine called for Wiles to resign immediately on Fox News last night, citing her failure to govern properly and place the right staff in the administration for messaging.
"I'm going to say publicly what a lot of people are saying privately: Susie Wiles needs to resign. She needs to offer her resignation to the president before he has to ask for it," she said.
"She's behind the historic loss, where we lost Mississippi and have have lost, potentially, the Senate for six years, and so that cuts both ways. I think if she loves and respects the president and his legacy, she'll do the right thing and step aside because on the current trajectory, we can't win in 2028 if we keep going down this current lane," Sunshine said.
"A lot of this was staff failure. A lot of this was strategy and messaging failure. It's the chief of staff's job to manage the staff. James Blair, the president's top political adviser, should not have been over in a pro-Russian state a month before a wipeout election. He should have been in Michigan."

Meanwhile, on election night, senior administration officials and staffers were slamming Wiles for promising midterm wins and being "delusional right until the very end," according to the Daily Mail.
One source in the administration said, "If the boss is smart he'll purge everyone tomorrow to save his legacy."
Another GOP operative blamed the Iran war and Zionist influencers, saying, "Republicans should stop letting Mark Levin and Marc Thiessen dictate our foreign policy. This is 100% downstream from Iran."
Wiles previously came under fire with reports that Trump would replace her before the midterm elections, with reports suggesting that Trump had been asking allies for their thoughts on Wiles and potential replacements.
Trump had reportedly floated White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, President of the New York Yankees Randy Levine, Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte, and former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy as possible successors.
However, Trump and the White House previously dismissed the reports as "TOTAL FAKE NEWS."
