Associated Press fact-checker Melissa Goldin came running to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's defense on Tuesday after conservative media personalities and Republican politicians accused him of hypocrisy for requiring a "library-card-esque" ID to shop at his government-run grocery stores, but opposing it when it comes to voting. However, Goldin's insistence that such claims are "misinformation" was not convincing.

Fully half of U.S. Democrat voters support replacing the presidency and Supreme Court with something else, but that proposal – and others advocated by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) – are broadly rejected by America's total electorate, results of a new Rasmussen poll reveals.
The national survey, conducted July 28-30, asked U.S. likely voters to voice the strength of their support for each of four DSA proposals:
- Replace the presidency and Supreme Court as we now know them.
- Abolish borders and grant amnesty to anyone currently in the U.S. illegally.
- Defund the Pentagon.
- Abolish prisons as part of a long-term program.
