Over 180,000 residents in the larger Grand Rapids area (200,000 people live in city limits but over a million live in surrounding communities) own weapons. This is not Detroit or the Muslim enclave of Dearborn (opposite side of the state). This is still a deeply Dutch Reformed / Polish Catholic area.
The city itself leans slightly Democrat (only 46% voted for Trump in 2024), but is surrounded by a sea of red.
Many West Michiganders conceal carry on the daily (ask me how I know).
Yet this knucklehead thinks we should be ashamed because guns are designed to kill?

LaGrand, a former Democratic state rep, was voted into office because there were no good conservative candidates in the 2024 election. He essentially ran unopposed because conservatives can't be bothered to get involved in politics.
