Taking place in the fourth quarter of his team's 19-15 victory, Campbell was put on a backboard and taken off the field on a cart. While being transported to the hospital, he was breathing and alert.

"I know there's still work ahead, but I remain very optimistic. I'm taking things one day at a time, staying positive, and focusing on getting better."

Laying face down on the field, Campbell wasn't moving after he hit Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson, which was his third tackle of the contest.
Prior to being strapped to a board, Campbell received an evaluation from medical personnel and was ultimately lifted onto a cart with fans applauding in the background. The cart was surrounded by the entire Lions team and the majority of the coaching staff.
