Democrat Congressman Learns Stephen Miller is New Chief of Staff Live On-Air — “I’m Going to Go Cry!”

Susie Wiles is out, and Stephen Miller is in as President Trump's new White House chief of staff…

And, Democrats are already melting down!

Democrat Rep. Don Beyer of Virginia found out about the leadership shakeup in the middle of a live interview on BBC Newsnight.

His reaction was simply hilarious.

"I'm going to go cry for the next half hour," he announced before describing Stephen Miller as "the single darkest force — the Darth Vader of this country."

Watch for yourself:

Rep. Beyer isn't the only Democrat upset about President Trump's decision to promote Stephen Miller to the influential role.

The Guardian shared reactions from some other prominent Democrats:

Several Democratic lawmakers have blasted Donald Trump's decision to appoint one of his most controversial advisers as White House chief of staff. Stephen Miller, one of the president's pugnacious aides who crafted the administration's hardline immigration policy agenda, is already a vocal spokesperson for the Trump White House.

Many Democrats point out that his promotion is another "sign of Trump's contempt for the voters", following the Republican drubbing in the midterm elections this week. The party is set to take control of both chambers of Congress for the first time in either of Trump's terms.

"In the aftermath of an election that was a repudiation of Trump's corruption, wars, cruelty, and indifference to the economic pain of Americans, it's another kick in the teeth to the American people," said Senator Chris Van Hollen, a Maryland Democrat.

Meanwhile, Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader, said that the president "learned nothing from his historic defeat".

"Stephen Miller is the architect of the most barbaric, inhumane policies of this administration," Schumer said. "Trump couldn't have made a worse choice. Our Democratic majorities will fight him every step of the way."

Democrats on the House committee for homeland security added to the chorus, calling Miller a "vile, hate-filled extremist who has made cruelty his life's work".

"America just rejected the fear and bigotry he peddles and Trump handed him a promotion. They have learned nothing," the ranking members wrote on social media.

The reason Democrats are freaking out about this is clear.

Stephen Miller has been one of the most vocal advocates of cracking down on illegal immigration in our countries.

He is largely credited as the hardline architect of Homeland Security's aggressive deportation efforts.

With him now stepping into the role of President Trump's most powerful aide, we can expect immigration enforcement to ramp up even more — which Democrats fear perhaps more than anything else (because it means they lose voters)!

CNBC has more on the move:

Elevating Miller, an architect of Trump's controversial mass-deportation efforts, is bound to raise the hackles of the incoming class of congressional Democrats, who have already vowed to investigate the government's immigration policies.

Miller will take over starting Monday, Trump said in a Truth Social post, praising his longtime aide as "one of my most trusted advisors."

Wiles, "who has done an outstanding job, will be moving over to the Trump Political Operation," the president wrote.

Asked about the move later Friday afternoon, Trump said, "I wanted to make a change."

"I think Susie's done a very good job, great job. But I just wanted to make it," Trump told reporters as he left the White House for an event in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

"Stephen's been great," Trump said, adding, "Sometimes in life you have to make moves."

Wiles resigned Thursday night, a senior White House source told MS NOW. Wiles told Trump, who was said to be angry with her following the GOP's huge election losses, "let me make this easy on you — I am going to resign," MS NOW reported.

"Today is my last day as White House Chief of Staff," Wiles said in an X post Friday afternoon. "Serving President Trump in the White House has been the honor of a lifetime."

"While my role may be changing, my commitment to the President and the mission never will," she wrote.

What do you think?

Are you happy with President Trump's decision to appoint Stephen Miller as his top advisor?
