A seven-year-old boy, who is his parents' IVF miracle baby, is fighting for his life in the hospital after being struck by a teen driver while out trick-or-treating in Utah.
Hudson Carter, of Spanish Fork, was struck by a 16-year-old driver while he was crossing Spanish Fork Parkway around 7.15pm on Saturday, police said.
'Witnesses advised the child was wearing dark clothing and a mask, and for an unknown reason, attempted to cross the roadway in the middle of the block when he was struck,' police said in a statement.
Hudson had been with his sisters and father when the accident happened.
It happened moments before the children were supposed to call their mother, Gia Carter, but when their father called her, she immediately knew something was wrong, Gia told ABC 4.
'I yelled: "What's wrong, what's wrong?" And he said: "Hudson has been hit by a car,"' she recalled to the outlet. 'I let out a scream from my soul.'
Hudson's father then informed Gia that their son was struggling to breathe.
The teen driver did stay at the scene and cooperated with police. It is unclear if she will face any charges.

The seven-year-old was taken to the hospital before he was life-flighted to Primary Children's Hospital in critical condition, where he remains.
The child has largely been unresponsive to external stimulation, but on Wednesday night, he was able to wiggle his toe and a finger, his mother told the outlet.
'That gave me more hope. It has been really sweet to see these little tender mercies,' the mother said.
The impact also left Hudson with multiple skull fractures, a traumatic brain injury, bleeding in his brain, lung contusions, a fractured pelvis, broken ribs, spleen damage and more, a GoFundMe revealed.
'Being next to my lifeless little son is something that I would not wish on anyone,' Gia told ABC 4.
'He currently has a monitor placed in his head to track the pressure on his brain,' Gia wrote on the fundraiser, which has garnered more than $50,000.
'Right now, machines are keeping my baby alive.'
Hudson and his twin sister were conceived through IVF, and Gia considers him her 'miracle baby,' she told ABC 4.

'He is so proud to be an hour older than his sister. He is the big brother,' she told ABC 4.
She told the outlet that her boy loves wrestling, breakdancing and playing outside. He also 'lives off' fruit, she said.
'He is the Zen in our family; he is the calm. As little as he is, he is our safe.'
Gia also forgives the teenager that was behind the wheel, saying her son would want that too.
'I hold no anger or animosity toward her. My heart hurts for her, too, and I truly hope she's okay,' she wrote on GoFundMe. 'I know this is something that will forever affect more than just my family.'
She admitted to ABC 4 it wasn't the driver's fault her son was dressed in a dark costume.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Gia and the police for comment.
