The mother of a California teen who was alleged sexually groomed by his juvenile hall therapist while he was in detention says her son has run away, and she fears the two have reconnected.

Former jail clinician Sofia Drotts, 26, of San Francisco, is free on bail after prosecutors levied a slew of felony charges against her on Monday, including accusing her of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor after the boy was freed from detention when he turned 17.

A controversial impending clinical trial on puberty blocking drugs in Britain will begin on Saturday to recruit hundreds of children as young as 11-years-old.

The so-called “Pathways” trial being run by King’s College London (KCL) will start recruiting some 226 children between the ages of 11 and 16 on August 1st as it seeks to determine the benefits or risks of puberty blockers on supposedly transgender children, the BBC reported.

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Russia launched an intense barrage of ballistic missiles and drones overnight into Saturday, killing at least nine people and wounding 30 civilians in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, authorities said.

CEUTA, Spain (AP) – The death toll in Spain’s Ceuta border crisis with Morocco has climbed to 67, the Spanish government said Saturday. They included some who drowned and some who were killed in a stampede to cross a breakwater barrier.

Spain announced it was installing a 500-meter-long containment barrier along the breakwater fence into the sea after between 50,000 and 60,000 migrants breached the tiny Spanish territory’s frontier between Thursday and Friday.
