White House chief of staff Susie Wiles confirmed that Friday was her last day on the job, after President Donald Trump said she would move to the political side of his operations.
Wiles had become a target for conservative critics of the administration who blamed her for steering Trump away from some of his hardline policies. Deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller will assume the post on Monday.

"I'm so proud to have been a part of what we've accomplished together from securing our border and cutting taxes to strengthening our economy and putting America First," she added. "
More than anything, I'm grateful for the extraordinary people I've had the privilege of working alongside. While my role may be changing, my commitment to the President and the mission never will."
Wiles served in the post for two years, after Trump secured his 2024 election win. She served as his campaign manager prior to the victory.
