The gay inventor of the Squatty Potty is a perv. Who would've thought?
Yeah, this guy is apparently into child porn and is the co-parent of four children with his male partner. And yes, he is from Utah, which means he's a former LDS. However, he left the church after announcing his homosexuality.
And then he created the Squatty Potty. If you don't know what the Squatty Potty is, it's essentially a stool you put under your feet when you poop.
Anyhow, from the local ABC 4:
According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) District of Utah, 50-year-old Robert Edwards of Ivins was indicted by a federal grand jury on Feb. 10 and arrested on Feb. 12. He faces one count of receipt of child pornography, and the USAO says he pleaded not guilty during an initial appearance and was remanded to the U.S. Marshal Service.
Here's how they found him:
According to court documents, in March 2021, an FBI agent joined an online group known to trade CSAM [child sexual abuse material]. A user posted a Zoom meeting link, and when the agent entered the call, he found that participants were viewing CSAM during a stream.
An adult male was identified during the Zoom meeting, and investigators allegedly connected the account information to Edwards, who had joined the call from Puerto Vallarta.
While the investigation continued, in May 2025, FBI investigators learned that Edwards allegedly used his PayPal account to purchase CSAM. He had previously made several transactions with people convicted of CSAM offenses in other countries.
Police seized his cell phone in November and after initial struggles to unlock the phone (Edwards wouldn't tell them the code), they found several files of CSAM. Other devices of Edwards' were found to contain CSAM and also connected him to purchases of the material. Edwards will be in court March 2.
So a gay guy with a gay partner and four kids - who also invented a stool that makes you squat when you poop - is into child porn.
