Markle was arrested at Maravida Senior Living, a specialized elderly care facility in North Lakeland, Florida, over his alleged possession of child pornography, the Daily Mail reported Friday, Nov. 6.

FBI agents stormed into his home after allegedly discovering 'troves of indecent materials' at properties associated with [Thomas] Markle in the Philippines and Mexico.

As CNN notes, the two are estranged. Thomas did not attend Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry.

The allegations about him have also been floating around for quite some time.

Meghan Markle recently said she was 'deeply distressed' by allegations that a collection of child sexual abuse images had been found at her father's former home. She also revealed that a letter containing 'troubling allegations' about him had been sent to London police in 2018.

Thomas is now 82 years old. A retired TV lighting and photography director, he previously lived in the Philippines in the city of Cebu. His son Thomas Jr. (the half-brother of Meghan) apparently found several boxes full of child porn at the house and turned them over to government authorities.

Filipino government secretary Jonvic Remulla said the pictures were "the most deplorable displays of impunity towards sexual activity that I have ever seen."

Meghan says she was first made aware of "disturbing allegations" against her father in 2019. Thomas, for his part, has admitted to paying for prostitutes in the Philippines, but denies the child porn collection is his.

His ex-wife claims he moved to the country "because 12-year-olds are legal there" (the Philippines has a massive criminal industry of child prostitution and child pornography).

Mexican authorities also raided a storage unit owned by Thomas in the city of Rosarito. Thomas Jr. also told the FBI that his father has storage units in Los Angeles.

I dread to think what the FBI might find, especially given what has already been found in the Philippines and Mexico.

Thomas Markle moved to Florida in May 2026 to live in an assisted care facility because of his developing dementia.
