White House Sends Mob Boss Message To Conservative Groups After Midterm Blowout

The Trump White House sent thousands of conservative groups a memo Thursday warning that their statements are being "monitored," The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported.

As the Republican Party devolved into civil war over Tuesday's midterm blowout, the White House Office of Public Liaison sent 3,000 conservative organizations a list of President Donald Trump's accomplishments, but added a caveat, highlighted in yellow. "As always, we are monitoring statements, press releases, and media engagements from your organizations," it read, according to WSJ.

A White House official told the Daily Caller the message was not intended as a threat and pointed to language in previous memos. One, sent to conservative orgs Oct. 31, reportedly read: "As always, please continue to flag any statements of support, press releases, op-eds and media engagements on the topics outlined above."

"These are routine emails that the Office of Public Liaison sends every week," the official said. "This language is typically included in these routine emails. It is not intended to be a threat, but rather to mobilize our coalition."

"The Trump Administration will continue working with outside groups to deliver wins for the American people," they added.

Republicans and conservatives have splintered following Tuesday's elections, which saw Democrats retake both chambers of Congress and, in some cases, win by historic margins in typically solid red states. (RELATED: Adam Hamilton Becomes First Dem To Win Kansas Since FDR Era)

Exit polls found that the economy, gas prices and the Iran War were among their voters' biggest concerns, in addition to political corruption.

Vice President J.D. Vance gave a blunt assessment Wednesday, outlining the issues he believes are crucial: ending the war with Iran, addressing the affordability crisis, re-evaluating America's relationship with Israel and putting America First.

Vance outlined the main issues that animated voters, including cost of living, America's relationship with Israel, ending the war with Iran and putting America first. (RELATED: Tucker Carlson Explains How Republicans Betrayed Their Way Into A Massive Election Night Loss)

"The reason we lost is the war," Vance added. "The president himself said so last night."
